A large-scale zonal seminar dedicated to the theme "Protection of women's and children's labor" was organized for trade union members and activists at the Main Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces. The event served as an important platform for the protection of employees' labor rights and the implementation of legislation. The seminar, held on February 20, 2026, was attended by a broad delegation of trade union committee chairpersons, board members, and union activists representing Baku city and its districts, as well as the country’s leading ministries, state committees, and agencies.
Legislative acts and legal mechanisms
During the seminar, the rights and privileges enshrined in legislation regarding the protection of the labor of working women and children were analyzed in detail. Participants were provided with in-depth information about current regulatory legal acts, relevant articles of the Labor Code, and special decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Speakers explained the legal mechanisms for regulating the labor of women and children, the application of benefits, and the creation of favorable and safe working conditions, highlighting ways to implement these mechanisms in practice.
State control and institutional partnership
A key highlight of the event was the participation of officials from relevant government bodies, including specialists from the Labor and Health Protection Department of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHİK) and the Deputy Head of the State Control Department of the State Labor Inspectorate Service. State officials shared their expertise on the effective organization of public and state oversight in the workplace, as well as on timely prevention of legal violations. The seminar concluded with a mutual discussion, where experts addressed questions from participants and exchanged views on their proposals.
